No more rear wiper

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I just took it off and i think it looks so much better. has anybody done this yet? It is very easy to take off. I found a plug that fits into the hole and im just waiting for some paint to apply on the plug

A:

wow now you can wash the rear winshield without snagging the towel on the wiper.

A:

I think it would look better with the wiper.

I'm going to take mine off for the summer. I just need to remember to get one of those battery post puller to do it. I tried a couple of times. I couldn't get it off my hand. It is a press fit after you loosen the nut holding it on.
So a battery post puller should work and I won't screw up my paint. ;)

Then some guys just put a plug on the screw threads. It looks pretty good that way and you can reinstall the wiper at the first rain.

I swear I'm going to do this tomorrow. It will look tight!

With Wiper

Photochopped Without Wiper

In my case with a spoiler with:

OK here is a before, during and after shots:

Before

During

After

My wiper was really on there. I had to crank down on the terminal puller pretty good then "pop" off it came. It still was in position so all was safe.
I looked at it when I got it off. It is pot aluminum. Cheap stuff, so take your time. It looked like plastic until I examined it for a minute or two.

This is the wipers new home until the winter:

I'll get some shots outside this afternoon and post them up. I have to run to the office right now. ;)

OK, I have taken out the motor now and plugged it with a 7/8" Hallman plug I found at Lowe's. I painted to match before I installed it:

You don't use that, either.

Hm, I don't like that little thing showing though. Hmm, let me know when you find a better way to stealth it.

guys guys... just get a roadster and u wont need the damn wiper

=o)

I saw that. Hard to visualize. It might be too high. When you get it and install it take a picture of it and post it. I'm looking for a lower wider plug when I go out doing other thing today. The one on there is fine but, I think I can make it even lower and smoother to the surface. Heck, I've had the rear deck inner panels off before. It's a snap, litterally. So, maybe I'll get a flat plug and paint it to match the Silverstone. Dunno, Shrug .....

I use my rear wiper daily. I live in Washington and if its not raining then when I wake up in the morning my car is covered in dew.
