Q:
Seems pretty ridiculous to me. I wouldn't want my tax dollars going toward hot and sexy cop cars. Cops shouldn't be chasing anyone so fast that a Z is necessary for them to do their jobs right. And where would you transport suspects in a Z? Cop cars take a beating and have to be able to drive not just on smooth pavement, but also on dirt and gravel. I wouldn't want to see a nice Z get trashed when the cop has to whip a U turn in a freeway median.
And why the hell does the cop need Lambo doors!? Or a carbon-fiber hood? Every one of your tax dollars wasted on this police department's souped-up Z is another dollar that can't be spent on more productive law enforcement, or that you can't spend on your own Z.
All that said, it is interesting. Thanks for posting it.

The car was probably confiscated and now used as a PR tool. I think the police have a crappy job and this one way for them to get positive exposure.
More power to them.

I was thinking it was just some cop's personal car, etc. There's no way that's a real police car, unless it was just donated to the PD or something.
I'm with osceola, probably just a PR tool.

Its a real police car. They take it to shows, etc. Its to promote people to race on the tracks and try to stop illegal street racing. Monterey Park PD in california sponsored it. I think the engine is completely modded too.

Watch your speeding on the out-skirts of Louisville, KY. on I-65. The cops use un-marked camaro's & firebirds to catch speeders. The sped limt is 55 in that area. To me...that sucks!!!
My SB ZR still feels like HEAVEN....what a wild ride!

pretty cool boSdee7!
yea. its not unusual for PDs to convert confiscated cars or get approval to purchase new ones. Ive seen many unmarked mustangs pull over people in my area.
Here are some others.
