A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I was on vacation from NJ going through VA and got a speeding ticket on I-77 in Wythe County. I was in 3rd in line doing 80 in a 65. The next car in line was approximately 100 yd behind with pretty dense traffic. Anyways I was the only one that got pulled over b/c all 3 of us moved over to the slow lane, and I guess he picked the car closest to him. Here is the little saving grace.
I was driving my other car, a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix. The ticket indicated that I was driving a 2004 Grand Prix. Technically, the vehicle denoted on the ticket does not exist. Can anyone recommend a good attorney in Wythe County? I plan on going out in a blaze of glory kicking and screaming! Thanks

I live in Va. , and unless they changed the law, you won't need a lawyer. Any mistake on a moving violation citation voids the citation.

Thanks for all the replies. My violation was just "speeding 80\65". The funny thing is that I was picked out of a pack of cars, and that really annyoed me. Can anyone recommend a good attorney in that area?

I agree with twolow if your plate and DL# is on the ticket and it's right you are out of luck.

I am definitely RD, most of the time in my Z. Minimum 90 mph, up to 125 on the beltway. No tickys yet. I can smell pork a mile away.

Be sure it's not RD. In VA, a conviction for RD is not a traffic conviction, it is a misdemeanor conviction that can carry jail time--which is usually but not always suspended--plus license suspension and fine.
Those of you who are achieving aircraft speeds on the roads--will admit to doing this but only in carefully selected places and circumstances--need to be aware that getting caught could have serious implications. If you are racing and get caught, some states impound the vehicle and sell it. As they used to say on Hill Street Blues, "Let's all be very careful out there."

Joe c,
Dang, you just showed your age with that Hillstreet Blues comment. hahaha I remember begging my parents to let me stay up past my 9pm bedtime when I was little so that I could watch Hillstreet Blues with them.
As for the ticket, Dont waste your money on a lawyer. Be a man and take responsibilites for your actions. You were speeding right? So pay your fine and move on. If you do go to court, please tell me when it is. I want to see the look on the judges face when you tell him the cop put the wrong year of you car. hahaha GAVIL down!!!! BEN
