Is it true there's tires and alignment problem?

One of my friend sent me a site, is there really a tire and alignment problem for the 2003-2004 350z. Here's the website they sent me. Check out the video. I have my doubt of my 350z now!

Do not to laughto hard. The problem does exist on some (majority of the Z's). This was a TV news article. When will Nissan issue a permanent fix?????????????????

Shift_Blame. Things are snowballing for Nissan. The pigeons are coming home to roost. Nissan will pay. Sad to say, by the time they do, the real culprit, Carlos Ghosn, will already have his golden parachute.

not to remove blame, but overall Ghosn has completely turned around Nissan and made it a succesful company.

Ngm - please come back to reality. Come back, where rational thinkers don't focus on themseleves so intensely that they believe everything bad that happens was designed specifically to cause them harm. Come back to where rational thinkers don't grandstand with ridiculous claims and conspiracy theories when something they owned had a manufacturing defect. Come back, where logical people are waiting to welcome you back, after you let go of the thinking that NISSAN had a sinister plot to cause your tires to wear unevenly.

Honestly, objectively, rationally - are you saying that you believe NISSAN intentionally designed the 350Z suspension incorrectly? If you're answer is yes, you have possibly drifted too far from the scape of reality - cursed to drift through the void of self-centered self-absorbed drama forever.

I am not saying they intentionally designed it that way. But, certainly they put the reintroduction of their "flagship" car through extensive testing which should have revealed the tire feathering problem. If so, then Nissan had an obligation to advise potential buyers that they will or might experience abnormal wear of the front tires due to the suspension geomtry. Federal law imposes an implied warranty of fitness for both normal and intneded uses of all manufactured products. The law also requires manufaturers to warn potential customers of any known, or reasonbaly anticipated, problems that may affect normal use such as abnormal tire wear. When Chevrolet first introduced the L88 Corvette, they placed a sticker on the console with a big red "Warning" that the car required aviation or 120 octane fuel. If Nissan knew about the tire problem beforehand, they had an obligation under federal law to so advise potential customers, and their failure to so, constitutes an intentional concealment of information that potential customers are entitled to under federal law and face liability big time. Again, the issue boils down to whether Nissan knew or reasonably should have anticipated the problem. And thats where internal documents turned over under the discovery process in the lawsuits should provide insight.

Good for you mxpx! Like you, I should have sued Nissan and recovered my costs, but I copped out and sold the car for less than I should have, but did not want to get stuck with a lemon that will be worth less later on. It will take some time, but the negative repercusssions of this and many other issues with the350Z, and the way Nissan is handlling them, will catch up with Nissan. I have a plethora of friends, neighbors, and colleagues who purschased Nissans in tbe Ghosn reginme and, to a teee, they sold them and swear they will never again buy a Nissan. Expect to get flamed by other 350Z owners who are either in self-denial or except the car with its defects because of their lust for it. Whatever, I enjoy my buddy's Honda S200o so much, I'm looking into one of those. Unlike the Z which is a platform car (built on an Altima platform), the S2000 is engineered from the ground up as a thoroughbred sports car with its own unique chasis and suspension that does not share a platform with any other Honda. And it screams and handles like all get out, not to mention typical Honda quality. Have you heard of any recalls or ridiculous problems on the S2000 like tire feathering, transmission problems, window streaking, electrical problems, bad chipping paint and windshields, and whatever else like on the 350Z?

Ngm I have learned one valuable lesson after owning this lemon of a car. I used to be one of those people who looked down on American built cars as having lesser quality than that of foreign automakers. However, I have now come to the realization that any car of any make can have major issues. The Z definitely is one of these cars with major issues. My car alone had the transmission issue, tire feathering, drivers window issue not going up, gas tank not filling issue, and rear washer nozzle leaking issue.

I can not speak for others but based on all of the facts I have seen produced by Nissan and taking people’s own experiences with this car into account I can say that I will never buy a Nissan again in the near future. I will also not look down on any make of car due to the fact that many auto producers can have issues. It is how they deal with these defects after they arise where loyalty can be made with the customer. In Nissan’s case they kept telling me all of these issues were ‘normal for a sports car’…
