A&Q about 350Z
Q:
this is nuts, its 2.53 here in NC. I hear that its just going to continue to go up. I refuse to put anything in my Z but Premium. I read a couple posts down someone yackin about how you can use standard grade. The Z is a sports car, not a SUV; therefore, its not wise to use the lowest grade fuel right? In the long run, its bad for your engine, right? 93 grade is cleaner right?
I don't know much about engine work so forgive me if this post sounds like a questionare.

Stop complaining, I'm paying $2.99 for premium here in the Bay Area, so at $2.53, that's dirt cheap!

Yeah.... for real! Gas has shot up to 3 bucks here in most parts of Cali. Some places even more. Other states get it easy.... while we get it in the tail pipe.

I never really did understand the argument about different gas grades. I mean, I put premium everytime. Its about 20 cents more a gallon, Big Deal!! If you fill your tank up from almost empty your looking a 3$ difference. I go through about 2 tanks a month depending on what im doing, so thats a whopping 6$ increase, Im sorry but if you cant afford to put 6$ more expensive a month gas in your 34k$ sports car, you may need to down grade to a civic or camary. lol No harm intended, just my .20 cents. BEN

Put the blame where it belongs for high gas prices. I know Bushie would not drive a Z. He wouldnt be able to handle the power. Plus if he had a 6 sp., he would get confused with the shift pattern. (Oh right, I know I should be ashamed of myself.) (And Nissan is coming out with a twin turbo Z tomorrow..)

Not everyone drives it so sparingly. I have to fill up once, if not twice a week, so I can see why some people get antsy about having to pay $46 or so everytime to fill up. But you're right, it's a small price to pay...I even put supreme in my 1970 Datsun 510...just to keep the fuel injectors clean....and that thing gets worse milage than my 350Z.

wow Zelous... we got 20 cents andnot just 2... thanks... but i agree...
i had an argument with my dad over that... i slide my card through to pay for the gas and turn around a second... an before i knew it had had stuck the low grade gas in my tank...
I was like WHAT ARE YOU DOING!!! he said the other stuff's too expensive... i said what 20 cents more? he replied... yeah thats like 3 bucks a tank if you add it up... i was like SOO FRICKIN WHAT??? it's 3 bucks... i can afford 3 bucks to keep my car running good...

And depending on where you get your gas some will stations cheat you out of your money.
If it says premium, some will subsitute regular instead and still charge for premium.

Yeah, It sucks that gas is 2.50-3.00$ a gallon, but we should consider ourselves lucky. Look around the world, see what other countries pay. I work with alot of guys from the UK. They pay around 7-8$ a gallon. They laugh at me when I bitch that our gas went up another 20 cents to 2.60$ a gallon. BEN
