i think the daddyphatsaks said the same thing about the Injen and that being the reason why he chose it... less pieces... less leaks... makes since to me...

i'm just thinking about if/when i get exhaust, either taking it to a shop or doing it myself too... i have all the tools and ramps necessay, but do i really wanna get my lazy butt under the car.... *sigh*

from the looks of it i'll prolly do it... i need something to do anyways...

"Sorry, phxZ31, but dealership techs are not paid $100/hr or more."

i don't know about wages in your area, but here the dealership techs get $100/hr. Certified tech at small shops get around $60/hr at the cheapest shops in town. These are wages for skilled mechanics, not 16 year old part timers or uncertified mechanics. The larger independent shop mechanics get around $75/hr and dealership mechanics usually make between 100-120/hr. Dont believe me? Look up Pinnacle Nissan in North Scottsdale and ask them what their mechanics charge per hour.

i bet a new tech... properly trained... would probably start around 14 to 18 and hour...more than that and i would be willing to bet they have a little more training or experience in the field...

tech 100.00$ an hour..... are you serious?
Do you realize what education they have to have? Not much. Dont' get my wrong, it can be difficult for those who are not mechanically inclined, but it's easier than a year at most community colleges. Don't exactly have to spend for years and 40k at a university.

The most expensive places in the country charge about 100.00 an hour for labor. At least 75% goes to the shop, at most 25% to the tech.

100$ an hour is more like a good lawyer, that's halarious. ANY tech would be JUMPING on a side job of even 50 dollars an hour. My accord MASTER ASE CERTIFIED the whole shi-bang takes every job I can get him at 20 bucks an hour.

Back to the topic at hand, 79.00 is a good deal, but at a dealership that's a great deal. I'd get it in writing as well. And becareful, they may try to keep your old exhaust, that is probably why they charged you so little.

yeah you definately wanto to keep your old exhaust just in case your AM one breaks or something... you have a fall back...

like the time i accidentally drove off a 1 foot drop... bent the hanger of my exhaust and had to replace it...
