A&Q about 350Z
Q:
hello all,
over a month ago i replaced the front tires again. i spoke to NNA that day and faxed over all the applicable doc's as i had previously done two other times over the past 2yrs and 10 months. today i received a call from NNA regional advisor saying that they would not reimburse for the front tires. i explained to her the previous 2 times which there was never any dispute about it at all.
keep in mind there still is a service advisory out that states 3 years unlimited mileage on 2003's for the tire wear, feathering, cupping, tire roar and alignment issue. the 3 years runs out on my vehicle next month. she mentioned to me that the previous 2 sets that nissan reimbursed for must have been done on good faith. i mentioned that the good faith scenario must not carry over to the written service advisory. i mentioned to her that the previous 2 reimbursements must have been a mistake and that i would send them a check for their mistake which she declined.
the regional rep offered no resolve other than they would not reimburse. through our conversation i did go into detail the well documented and beaten to death topic of this tire wear scenario and even mentioned some of the buy back and litigation that has occurred. my reluctancy in not pursing these avenues was based on nissans customer service.
Keep in mind I also purchsed the extended warranty 5yr/100k/0ded.
what do you guys think?

Total BS!
I guess tires and brakes could be excluded from their extended warranty.
You might want to read the fine print on your agreement.

hey chuck,
i never expected nissan to get so crappy when it came down to the wire. i was aware that brakes and tires are not warranty items. found that one out real quick after changing out rotors and pads at 12k miles. the tech said factory rotors are made of pot metal and basically would not turn them. since then the stop tech's have been awesome in comparison to oem.

"NNA" and "Customer Service" should never be used in the same sentence. Look at it this way - you are one set of tires ahead of where I got with them. They replaced them once no questions asked, but declined the 2nd time about 10,000 miles later. The rep I spoke with gave me the usual song and dance that performance tires were going to wear out faster than normal. She ended up by telling me that I could argue the point all day but they were not giving me another set. Running Kumho 245 All Season now and having no issues, other than the fact that the car WILL NOT hold an aligment for longer than 6 months. Small price to pay, in my opinion. But I will never buy a new Nissan product again, and that includes parts, even to the point of an oil filter.

Now now boys lets not get started again on how us guys with the 03's got screwed on the tire issue. We've heard it before and it will be nothing but a rehash of old news. Just bend over and grab the cheeks and say thank you NNA.

NNA doesn't know what customer service is!!!
This is the main reason that Toyota is close to being the number one
vehicle purchased in the US!
The big three are shaking in their boots.
Too bad Nissan!!!!
