tight looks like the power bulge hood on the older Z's

What about dual intakes? I wonder if that's the reason it has a new engine cover. What's an event data recorder? Is it similar to a black box?
A:
Change for change's sake ...
Urf.
A:
hood bulge isnt because of the intakes, apparently the HR is a bit taller and wider than the VQ35

>Event data recorder
The event data recorder, as far as I can tell, does you no good at all except to implicate you for the police if you get in an accident. Just think of it as big brother watching you drive everywhere you go.
A:
Looks like a lump on a forehead.
A:
It looks like there enough room under that hood bubble to put twin superchargers on the motor. Sure is ugly

loving the hood bulge, finally some resemblance to its roots...

I disagree. The hood bulge on the older Z's looked like it fit the lines of the car, this one doesn't fit at all. The way it was before looked better. Maybe once I see it in real life I'll change my mind but in these pics it looks like an aftermarket rice mod.

is it turbocharged yet?
...
A:
this is probably an attempt by nissan to appease the people that wanted a retro z. that said, i blame datto.

Guys,
Ill be at the SEMA show at the end of the month. I will see if its there and get some pics of the 07 to confirm the ones above.
The hood has some nastalgic flair to it, but on the current Z it looks fug ugly. If those are the changes for 07, Im glad I bought an 06 Track.

Hmmm....suppose I should change that. I stopped having fun around corners after I learned how much tires for the rear end cost. Im used to tires lasting 40,000 miles....... the Zs last around 15000, I was a little shocked. But what do expect, its a sports car.

Anyone notice the gas cap doesn't match. Think they would have taken care of that before putting it under the bright lights. It looks like the crome silver on a silverstone body.

No like the bulge.
A:
At first...I thought the hood bulge looked puky....then I stared at the picture for about a minute, and my eyes started to hurt, and now I think I really like it!
Nissan...I love em.

The bulge is fugly ugly & that seems to be in the majority.....
My SB ZR still feels like HEAVEN....what a wild ride!
A:
i don't mind it. i'm sure most people don't like it because most people don't like change. i just think it's funny because it's such an obvious attempt to make it look more like the old Zs, which i think is unnecessary. i think they should either make a retro Z or not.

You're way off to say it's because they don't like change, Justin.
Second, I had to look really, really hard to get that monstrosity to look like any old Z, regardless of vintage.
Third, one of the few successful hood bulge designs was used to clear the big block motor in the C3 Corvette. I can't think of many others.

I think it's the rounded shape. A raised section straight down the middle might have looked way cool, but the "anvil" shape is just fugly.
Oh well, you can always go aftermarket.
A:
^^ haha like the Z32. I agree, although I don't think this looks too bad. Coulda been worse...

u call it a hood, we call it a bonnet, aren't we all more interested in what's under the hood, than its aesthetics?

I think it looks like a Lexus hood!
I saw it this weekend at the Anaheim Auto Show.
It does nothing for me and I do like change (for the better).
