A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I looked at the 35th today while my wheel barrings were being replaced. Nothing special really. How about you guys? Is it worth the extra 3k. I mean, its just a track model pretty much.

It's probably more like a Touring model with Brembos, plus cross drilled rotors (not on the Track model,) plus special edition wheels, plus a different Z emblem on the front quarter panels.
I just spent 2 minutes on nissanusa.com
Worth it? If you want Brembos and cross drilled rotors and trick wheels, and you plan to keep it for awhile and see if the Z33 mystique grows, maybe it is.
Probably not worth it if you like adding body kits and such.

The 35th Anniversary Edition also comes in Super Black and Silverstone.
I believe it also has 300 hp with less than 274 lbs of torque.
I am happy with my Z, don't need a 35th Anniversiary model here.

I regret spending money on a touring! After 33k, I replaced the crappy Bose with some real speakers/subs. I think the package was around 300 bucks right? For the Bose/6 disc? I don't remember. I know it was not worth it. You can buy a better system at an audio shop. Well, I learned the expensive way, =(. As for the 35th, way over priced.
On the other hand, how many of you guys got the leather? Mine feels kinda cheap and weary. Compared to leather in my Friend's Acura TL.
The interior looks to be stepped up a notch in the 06 models but I am stuck with my 04.5, and happy with it. But still, it sucks having cheap interior! Do you guys agree?

Cool zpoe... did not know that.
Guess it would have been better stated that, for me, it wasn't available in Daytona Blue...

This 5.8s 0-60 time must be one of the most popular, widely posted 0-60 time for th 35AE.
Many sites quote it from the Car & Driver article (April 2005, p.138), in which author Barry Winfiled readily admits:
"Ironically, the extra power and range didn't do much at the test track - producing a slower 0-to-60 mph time, 5.8 seconds, than that of our last 350Z Touring (5.7). Nor was the quarter-mile time shorter, just equaling the Touring's at 14.3 seconds, ***but this had to do with the state of the desert test facilities after big winter storms. Grip was in short supply.***"
No one seems to quote the Road & Track test time, 5.6 seconds (March 2005). Per Road & Track (p.57):
"Observant readers will notice that the torque figure for the new engine is slightly less than before. This is the result of revised engine mapping that, along with the extra bhp, gives the v-6 a more linear torque curve."
So if you ask me, crappy track conditions taking 0.2 seconds off the 0-to-60 time, I'd prefer to quote the 5.6sec time.
But that's me. To each their own.

not worth it there adding the additional price because of the up in hp.they havent done anything special to the car worth adding 3k or more to the price.those wheels are ok i like my rays on my track better but to each his own.what the car needs is 350hp and 350+ pounds of torque.that would make it worth any extra pricing.decreasing the torque was a bad idea but i guess you can go higher on the rpms before shifting? nissan needs to go with a cast iron block and twin turbo to regain the respect they once had.they also need to fix the front end so there's no more tire feathering.$500 in tires once a year isn't my idea of a well made car.i still love mine though.just my .02 pennies.
