If you are taking loans to buy cars, you should think twice. Cars are devaluing assets, which means they will only lose value. You are right to think about paying cash. But don't buy new.
My advice, if you wanted to buy, say, a sunset 350z, is to find a nice used one (2003?) that has already lost a lot of value, and pay cash for it. There are lots of 350zs around on the car lots right now. The next best thing is a loan at between 0-3%, since that is lower than inflation and you can probably make more money with the money saved.
BTW, I just did an autotrader search and found several 2003 350Z's with 12K miles or less for $22-24K. That means you should be able to snap one up with 20-30K miles for even less.

Thanks! I'm so excited to get a 350Z right now... I haven't driven any new cars really but a Accord '02 woundering what a Z clutch would feel like or taking her onto the tracks.

I second what Mr. z32d00d told you -- it's good advice. Don't let "gotta have it fever" screw your net worth.
A good way of running the numbers on these issues is with the many online calculators. Check out http://abcnews.go.com/Business/FinancialSecurity/story?id=133188
There are a bunch of calculators there to play with. Also consider the opportunity costs of your purchase. Every dollar you spend on a depreciating asset is one you can't spend on an investment that will actually go up in value. Tons of people get 5 year loans for the full value of their cars, but that doesn't make that a good idea.
In short, just be patient, save a lot of money, and don't buy new.
