There are at least a couple individuals who have replaced it. It is expensive because you have to replace the flywheel as well. It's probably better to go with an aftermarket clutch and flywheel like JWT; that way you will only have to replace the clutch next time. Check out these threads:

Not too worried about the cost to replace the clutch. I bought the Z used with about 38,000 and bought the nissan security plus warranty. So Im good up to 100,000.
Only getting some chatter once in a while, so I might wait

When I replaced mine I had around 32k on it and the old clutch was only a little worn. There was probably at least another 32k left on it and I drive pretty aggressive so I wouldnt worry about it wearing out too early.
