Gotta tell you guys ...

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I'm coming up on 3 years with this car, and I still love looking back at it when I leave and looking for new angles as I approach. About the only thing I'd change is sitting about an inch or two lower in the driver's seat, but I suppose that could be corrected locally.

That's all. Enjoy your rides.

PS: Class action lawsuits suck.

I agree with 72.
My Z still looks as good to me today as it did the first time I saw a picture of them from the 2002 Los Angeles Auto Show.

I love my Z and will not get rid of it!

I have had several sets of front tires replaced because of feathering/cupping.

I replaced all four of my Bridgestones with Good Year Eagle F1's when the rears wore out at 20K miles.

The new Good Year front tires have feathered a little bit too. I have my car aligned and front tires rotated side to side every 5 to 6k miles by a competent Independent Tire and Brake shop.

This is working for me.

I'm with you guys too. I have had mine for 3 years and loving it more and more every day. Idon't want the car to get old ever, I want it to stay just the way it is as long as I own it.

+1, guys. I've had problems too, but the alignment issue seems to have finally been resolved. Of course, it took a NISMO Caster/Camber & Toe kit to do it. LOLOL

I agree...I still find myself looking at the car. Mine is a DB so it subtly changes colors in full sun and shadow lines appear. Anyone notice the light silver powdered mica in their DB paint? It almost looks frosted in full sun.

I'm very happy with the car. I'm lucky enough to have a good service department to deal with who fixes things with no hassles. They really, really tried to fix the front alignment/suspension issue but to no avail. So, seeing it was a lost cause, they helped me out with some discounted pricing on the NISMO kit. Man, what a difference!

LaterZ!

Maddog95,
Where do you find the NISMO Caster/Camber & Toe kit?

My Z's 3rd year coming up (in November) and I still smile everytime I look at her. She is still beautiful just like the day I bought her home. Had some issues with the dealer but nothing much to complain about this beauty. I'm sad to hear about others who are having issues.

Over the course of this past weekend, I had a couple neighbor kids tell me in an awestruck tone, "wow, cool car." While I was parked at the store a guy told me he thought my car was the nicest car he had seen in a long time. At a stoplight, a family in an SUV rolled down their windows, told me my car looked hot, and urged me to "peel out." A guy in a hot red late-model 911 turbo wanted to race me on the freeway (I take this as a compliment!). I also got multiple stares and smiles from people who just enjoyed watching as I drove by. All of this happened in one weekend.

I'd love this car even if it was ugly, but it sure does help that it's hot.

Now that I've had the Z for almost a year, I've gotten used to the complimentary looks and comments. At the gas pump, in parking lots, at stoplights, and from people standing in their yards watching me drive by--it is amazing how many people love the look and sound of the 350Z. If I were 30 years younger and single, I could get into some real trouble.

The Z rocks! This is my second Z and I too enjoy it more and more each day.

Some months ago, I was out in the yard when a handful of neighborhood boys--12 to 14 year-olds, I would guess--stopped at the foot of the driveway and were admiring my Z. I asked if they wanted to look at it, and they charged up the driveway, all excited. So, I opened the doors and the hood, and they teemed around the car, looking at all of the details. I closed the hood, and popped the magic question: Wanna sit in it? You'd have thought I was Elvis. Each one took a turn sitting behind the wheel, imagining driving it. It really took me back to another time when I was about that age and was allowed to sit behind the wheel of a Jag XK-150. Ain't cars fun? They can be fun when they're just sitting there.

That's awesome. I had a couple of those kinds of experiences when I was about that age, and it's what inspired me to get this car. I think it's practically a responsibility of every sports car owner to live the dreams of those boys whose walls are plastered with car posters, but who are too young to drive.

For me, my chief automotive fantasy for most of my life was a Ferrari 308--Magnum P.I.'s car. In the past few years I started getting really serious about them, and doing a lot of shopping around, when I realized I would have a lot more fun with a Z. For the same price as the Ferrari (actually a little less), I got modern technology and equally hot looks (although I doubt the Z will prove a timeless design like the 308's Pinnafarina styling). And I can actually leave the Z parked in a parking lot, which I would never do with the 308.
