I believe Failure to stop is a misdemeanor is some states. If there is no fine on the citation, and you are required to appear for it, then you will likely have to plea on misdemeanor charges.

That sucks. I would hate to sit and wonder what I might have to pay for something like that.

The ticket has the 'traffic' box checked off not the misdemeanor box. The lady in the courtroom number said it will be over $100 but not how much more. I'm supposed to wait for the 'courtesy notice' to arrive by mail.

If you have a friend who is a lawyer, they can sometimes drop it down to a no seat belt ticket which is less $. Works in some places and some it wont.

I obviously have the ticket and no where does it state how much the fine is...otherwise why would I post?

You are screwed if its on CA... Most parts of the state the fine for running a red light is over 275.... I've already seen it go over 375 in some cities. And I don't think that they allow traffic school for it either.... which would of kept it of your DMV record. But not sure on that though.

I'll have to wait since it is legal to make a right turn on a red, so it's essentially a stop sign at that point, but since I didn't come to a complete stop first, I got busted.
It's not like I blew through a red light, which I could only imagine would be pretty expensive...ahhh the waiting game!

I have a idea. Move to Florida. The police down here are too lazy to enforce the traffic laws. No one uses turn signals, everyone blows red lights and forget about using the left lane for anything other than looking at some nit wits rear end.

I got a ticket for the same thing about a year ago in Los Angeles. I paid about 200 bucks including traffic school. It shouldn't be more than that.

I'm in California, but the cop only ticketed me for "Failure to stop at red light prior to making right turn"...he said he could have written me up for the other two (passing the car in front of me on the shoulder and that first red light) but I told him since the area after the tracks were clear, I passed the car up to get there...so it's only for what he wrote it up for. It's basically like failing to stop at a stop sign at that point.

Wait for the notice, go online, find the cheapest "accredited" site, take the course (lessthan 30 minutes,) pay their fee, print their cerificate, and send it along to the local magistrates with your fine.
Now don't do it again for another six years.

According to your posted picture, you ran a red light when you passed that car to the right (the crack down in CA for going pass train passings...is another story) you ran the first red light.
It is just like going around the railroad crossing arms that come down.
After this 1st red light, it's a crap shoot.

It will run you between 70 - 100 dollars. Failure to come to a complete stop at a stop sign...blah blah blah, right?

I just got my 'courtesy notice' in the mail. This is going to cost me $379 with traffic school! Oh well... it will sure learn me to be more patient at a light!
