another option is to look at this website...

www.ultimatez.com

they have a front license plat mounting that uses the front tow hook screw... not to mention ito looks a lot better than a piece of metal screwed into your bumper... if in your area not having a fron tlicense plate is a problem... check it out you might like it...

CA, NY, IL, PA, OH, VA, MO, & MD are some other states that require front license plates, I think.

I live in Utah, and I realized that a front plate was required only after I'd bought my car with no front plate. The 2 previous owners never installed one, and I haven't either.

Every once in a while I try to notice what percentage of other cars around me lack front plates. My informal guesstimate is that only about 80 - 85% of cars on the road here actually have front plates. I don't think cops notice or care about it.

it is the law where i'm at, but rarely enforced. they will tack it on if you're pulled over for a moving violation.

I am pretty sure that CA requires you to have a front license plate. But I don't have mine and I haven't had it since I purched my Z back in 2003. Though I was harrased about it one time when I got pulled over in my Accord(03 as well) but the peace officer only asked where it was.... I told him that it was in my trunk with the spare..... didn't even mention on the speeding ticket. <_<

It is required by law here in TX also. It isn't really enforced by the cops in Austin though. I guess you'd have to get pulled over by a real A** Clown in order to get a ticket. However they are supposed to check for front license plate when doing state inspections.

The plate that mecinoid has is way better than the factory one.

A:

that's what i was talking about...

but from what i've encountered... front plates apparently aren't required in TX either...

I've been pulled over now... what... 3 times... and none of them have ever said anything about the front license plate missing...

I got stopped in North Richland Hills when I had my eclipse several years ago and the cop there gave me a ticket for no front plate.

I have been stopped once in my Z and the cop said nothing about no front plate, he did say he liked the lines on my Z though.

I really think in Texas in depends on who stops you. I know for a fact that a plate is required but not enforced at all times.

The other law they made was no part of the back plate can be covered by a frame, like the ones dealers out on. I know a few people that got tickets for this when they were pulled over.
