A&Q about 350Z
Q:
I am happy to report that as of last week I have won my suit against Nissan North America. They are buying back my Z for full purchase price, paying my lawyer fees and relieving me of one POS car!!!!
I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has made posts in regards to the tire feathering issue. I really appreciate the help. It paid off in the long run for me.
On a very funny note: I never once replaced the tires on my Z. Soo what that means is that they are getting their crap car back with worn out tires. But hey…they told me ‘it is normal for tires to wear like that/this on sports cars’. So I guess they are going to keep those tires on the car ;)…
Good luck to anyone else who is looking to offload their lemon of a car. They did not even put up any type of fight in my case. My lawyer said that class-action suit helped my case because Nissan more-than-likely would not call one of their technical experts to the stand because their testimony could set a president for the class-action suit.
If you are on the fence about suing I would recommend going for it. I only took my car to the dealership two times. Both times they would not help me so I sued and won!

Don't listen to vaportrail. He obviously has great taste in RUSH music but probably doesn't understand half the meanings of Peart's lyrics.

Damn 400 treadwear is going to change the cornering ability of the 350z isn't? I mean they designed the car with 140 tires in mind. I've got 420 tires on my 280z, soon to come off, and while they are decent they are nothing like 280 treadwear tires coming on. Then again I guess thats better than replacing them every 1500 like you had to.

Thank you everyone!
I am in no way bashing the car. It truly is a very good machine. However, mine just happen to have some issues that were too much for me to deal with. I make $80,000 / year salary but there is no way I'm throwing away money on tires every 5,000 miles! I may be only 28 but I'm not that naive!
Good luck to all of you who are in litigation. Also, good luck to you who have well working cars. I am very happy for you because, as I stated above, the Z is a very nice car.
I'm looking at buying a replacement today. Not sure what to get yet though.

Guys $80K is not a lot of money, I am only speaking from my experience since I make a little more than that. But having a mortgage in the Bay area, a 350Z, a Datsun 510 & 521, not to mention all the associated bills that come with all of those things (property tax, gas, registration fees, insurance, utilities, internet access, cell phone, food, credit card bills, girl friend bills lol), it all goes so fast.
Unless you live at home with your parents, you are not likely to be able to afford the new Vette, unless you're a DINK (Double Income No Kids) & live outside California, then maybe

I have seen no tire problems with my aftermarket 19's after 6000 miles. Hopefully none will come.
