A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Guys, as of wenesday September 13 2006, I relinquish owerniship of my 2004 Nissan 350Z. Great car, but just didn't live up to my expectations. Maybe in the future, when the Z cars are a bit more reliable, I will once again own one...but for now, its a hit or miss game with the Z. I have decided to invest my money in a MKIV Supra Turbo. I just wanted to say thanks alot for all the support and help. It has been a great journey transitioning from the 300ZX to a 350Z! It was great knowing all of you on this forum. This is a great site, very informative and growing by the minute...keep up the good work! All you guys with 350Z, I hope your experience with your Z and Nissan as a whole company remains a positive one...good luck to you all, and drive safely!

I am glad, I don't think he ever did anything but complain. Better to have all the negativity gone.

Hey, some people are Z people some are not. All sport cars need work from time to time if you beat on them like you are supposed to.
You know that Supra is gonna be trouble down the road.... and parts for those are almost non-existant.
Hope he does his homework on that one!
I take my Z and wrench a little if I have to. At least I know there will be parts around for a long, long time.....

mecinoid...you know whats funny?...you talk about a Supra (an almost 13yr old car) as if its some POS car that will blow-up as soon as i buy it. Yet, here is whats really funny....Supra's have yet to be recalled for any mechanical failures....remmember, this is a 13yr old car we are talking about here....and yet the 350Z is only 3yrs old and has a nice sized file of recalls, defects, and TSB's that make you think...."is this car a legal lemon?" Also, the Supra (once again, a 13yr old car) in good shape costs as much if not more than a brand new Z!....and another 13yrs later, guess who will probably get more money for their car when its time to sell? There is just no comparison to Toyota my friend...they are the BEST when it comes to reliability, performance, safety, luxury (especially lexus), and yeah....fuel economy! I would take a 20yr Toyota Supra Turbo over a 2007 Turbo'd 350Z any day of the week! I bought the Z thinking it was gonna be like the 300ZX...I was wrong! Enjoy your Z...and if you ever happen to see a black Supra driving next to you anywhere, don't race it...

every car has problems. here are some supra problems from the years you mention. i have no idea what an mkiv is, but i'm sure problems aren't specific to certain trims.
this is a quick 2 minute search. i'm sure if i went to a supra forum i'd find plenty of issues people have had.

Exactly!....read the last portion of the paragraph..."NHTSA Recall History
None to Date." Now, do the same for the Z, and see what u get! The problems mentioned are just starting to show up and are only applicable to heavily modified cars that were stripped and sold. Btw, MKIV stand for "Mark Four" or "fourth generation." You cant compare a Z to a Supra, because ultimately, the two cars were never intended to compete....the Supra was meant to compete with "super sports cars" not "super affordable sports cars!"
