A&Q about 350Z

After Christmas I got some extra cash for something cool to buy, so I went over to Power Nissan Irvine here in southern CA, with an intention of purchasing the NISMO oil cap and radiator cap. The guy over the parts counter said that those items will void the Powerplant waranty. Anyway, I went to another Nissan dealer at Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, about 10 miles away, they said it's ok and won't void any waranty. On the Nissan website it says that those parts are R-Tune, which means not covered. So what do you guys think? Does it means the parts does not carry any type of warranty but won't void my overall powerplant warranty? Or buy installing those will automatically void my powerplant warranty? Any experience you guys have? Thank you in advance

I have not heard that NISMO oil and radiator caps void the warranty.
I would consider the source. Power/Irvine Nissan's Service and Sales SUCK!!!!
I prefer RSM Nissan all the way over Power.

i would think the nismo parts would not affect warranty, i know that trd/toyota racing devolopment doesnt, or at least it didnt on my g/f celica.

Hey there Zpoe, good to know a Z enthusiast nearby. I know Power sucks all the way, but they are closer, and I'm just buying the caps anyway, plus they sent me a 10% discount for NISMO parts. All other services I'll definitely go to RSM Nissan. Hey maybe you could show me your Lemans Sunset Z sometime.

ssm86, TRD supported by toyota all the way including warranty. Nissan made an exception with the R-Tune. The S-Tune parts are carry the warranty.

Problem Zpoe, idon't know how to email the picture to you. I got no scanner yet. But I'll let my gf do it for me on the weekends maybe. But thanks for the offer. By the way you still have your stock wheels? do you plan on replacing it? Because if not, I have the original potenza for the rear 235/50/17 with about 2800 miles on it before i replaced it. I'm looking for a buyer both tires for 50 bucks.

255/45/R17s on the rear
on my stock wheels.
Much, much better tire wear than I ever had with the OEM Potenzas!!!!

KYOZ33: read this before you purchase the NISMO parts!! Very Important!!
The NISMO oil cap will not void the warranty. Theres nothing special about it other than it saying "NISMO" on it.
The NISMO radiator cap MOST DEFINITELY WILL void your warranty. This is because the factory radiator is spec'd to hold a certain pressure only. The NISMO radiator cap is a high performance radiator cap that lets out coolant from the engine into the overflow at a much higher than stock pressure. The reason you want a higher pressure radiator cap on a race engine is because it effectively raises the boiling point of the coolant. The reason you cannot put this on a stock engine is because you run the risk of blowing the tanks right off the core of the radiator in the summer!
The stock radiator cap on my Z31 was 13PSI, I put a 16PSI cap on and blew out my stock radiator. You can only use this cap if you have a heavy duty performance radiator tested to comply with the pressure of the NISMO cap. This is not for stock vehicles at all.

zpoe, I'm in LA the whole day Saturday. How about Sunday you pick the time? Also this is for shadowgk, if zpoe is ok on Sunday can you make it at best buy's parking lot by pick up stix from tustin. I know it's a little far for you, but it's not that bad. You can take 5 south, exit at Lake Forest , then make a Right at Lake Forest Dr. Then you'll see a cheveron Gas station on your right. Huge parking Lot, plus you'll see best buy's from the exit ramp too. you kind of gonna take a bridge from the 5 freeway that says bake parkway exit. Just ignore it and keep left until after the bridge, then exit on lake forest. How about that shadowgk?
