I just got back from driving my Z. I actually just got in my car and took an 110 mile cruise around Phoenix with a friend of mine. We didn't go anywhere in particular.. we were just bored so we went out joyriding.

its able to go to 19 degrees straight whereas my left knee/leg will go into the negatives, and it will go to almost 98 degrees bent wheras my left will go all the way.
its more less a waiting game now. i can put weight on it and half ass walk with my crutches.
my parents say ill be driving in a min. of 5 more months- i disagree, im thinking by march at the latest-but it all depends on what the doctors have to say. with me being at my parents house-they go by what the doc says, not by what im able to do.
i am able to drive my truck, i know cause i was going too, but my mom hid my keys and my licensce cause she knew i was going to try, and i tried to get in the z about a week ago but i couldnt bend enough to get in-so ill just wait, let the money roll in and start collecting some new accessories/parts.

Cool. Well that all sounds pretty good. Parents can be a major drag at times, but I guess they mostly do what they do out of love. I had some teeth extracted yesterday and my mom took away my pain killers that the doctor gave me and so I have to survive the next few days with just Ibuprofen... she says that she saw too many of her friends become drug addicts.
But anyways, sounds like things are going well. Let me know when you can drive again and perhaps we can meet up somewhere and have a cruise.

Hey, just so you know, you should ALWAYS get a police report, no matter who's fault it was. If you don't have that, you can REALLY get screwed by the insurance company. If it wasn't your fault, the police report will always exonerate you, but if you don't have that, you may have to end up paying for HIS car and yours.
Just a thought.
Too bad about your bumper. That is a major bummer. My window got smashed in by some punk about a week ago, so I know how you feel. God, it is awful seeing the car in damaged shape. Makes me hurt...inside.

thanks... if i was i would have really thrown a **** fit... pardon my french... either way, my deductible is 1K so i'd still end up paying for it if i claimed under my insurance... i'm just exploring the possiblities of getting a kit now, since i gotta replace my bumper anyways...
so there's always a bright side... except for the case of my rear fender... but that was my own dumbass fault... long story but doesn't look too noticable...
the insurance guy that took pictures of my car didn't notice it... so when i go get it estimated i'm gonna see if it's too expensive for me to pay or if i should involve my insurance...

Here's a hint...If you can afford to fix it without insurance, 100% of the time you should do it.
$1,000 deductible is pretty high. You must have a less comprehensive plan than I. I have full coverage with a $250 deductible. The only time I will consider involving insurance is if I get injured in a wreck, or if I cannot afford to fix it. I don't care who's fault it is. If the claim is made, you have a claim history, and that, so I hear, will come around and bite you in the ass when you really DO need insurance in the future.

you have to be rich or stupid in florida to get full coverage w/ that low deductable. insurance is just too expensive.

Check the police report very carefully. An idiot cop didn't use the right terminology when I was in a multi-vehicle accident that was not my fault whatsoever caused me to be at 10% fault for one of the cars that was totaled. A complex lawsuit took place so I didn't get money from my insurance company for the car until 9 months after. What a ****ing rip off, I had to get my mother another car so she could go to work. On top of that, I had to payout 1500.00 in an accident that was 100% not my fault, and also become a wreck on my record, argh!!

uh... sorry zlover57.... i'm probably going to fix it w/o insurance anyways... because either way i look at it... i'm gonna end up paying out $1000 before they will do anything... so by that time i would have had it paid for anyways... no need to tell them...
and i F***ing hate cops... so if i can at all i will avoid at nearly all cost involving them...
it's funny for the longest my bank that is financing my Z REQUIRED that i have a deductable no more than 500 but now since that company has been bought out by another bank... they couldn't care less...

nah mine is neatly tucked into the cargo net behind the passengers seat...
but from what i have been led to believe is that if you two can settle it out for yourselves... then there is no need to involve the authorities...
since i have only been in a few fender benders... not really any accidents... (knock on wood) i know that so far... i've only talked to the other person... made out a game plan... and talked to them over the phone... and setted it perfectly...
like when i was rear ended... in my civic... we obviosly had to use insurance... because the bill was like 4000 and only a mere scratch on the guy's hood... i got an estimate and his insurance footed the bill...
another time i accidentally scraped a girls bumper... (she stopped halfway out into the street) i thought she was gone so i began pulling forward... and watching traffic... it bent my fender and put like a 2 inch scratch in her bumper...
i told her to go to the place where i got mycivic done and they estimated $250 so i cut her a check. she invited me to go to her work and see her...Hooters, but i never saw the girl again (wasn't my type)
