A&Q about 350Z
Q:
So yeah the 2007 G35 sedan has the new VQ engine and I was just reading about it. According to Winding Road magazine, the new VQ in the G35 has 306 hp with 268 lb-ft of torque. The 350Z supplies 300 hp and 274 lb-ft. of torque. They estimate a 0 - 60 mph time of 5.2 seconds for the G35. The 350Z sits in the mid to high 5's in the 0 - 60. The G35 sedan weighs in at 3497 lbs while the Z is 3400 lbs.
So basically the new G35 four door passenger car weighs 97 lbs more than our current Z and throws up better performance numbers. This is either one serious sedan or the new Z will be largely improved over our current model. I can't wait to see what it will be like. I'm hoping lighter weight with an extra 20 hp and 20 lb-ft of torque with a 0 - 60 of 5 seconds or less.
A:
the future 350Z will get the VQ35HR in the G35 but with more power. The New engine is based off a different HP rating system if I am not mistaken.
A:
A new HP Rating system? I doubt Nissan is going to try to push an alternative to HP at this point.
A:
what are you talking about z32d00d?
the SAE redid the hp rating system recently... More stringent.
