A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Hi Guys, My 2006 Touring is in the garage for the winter. I have not driven it much since I picked it up in October (only 500 miles). I also have not had time to read all the manuals. My question is can I play DVD through the factory navigational system? Pete
A:
No.
It will only read the navigation software.
Sorry about that...

it'd be sweet if you could. although the nav is pretty handy by itself.

hehe...can you say road distraction... i couldn't imagine an auto manufacturer, deliberately including a reason to distract a driver from the road... that sounds like a law suit waiting to happen...
much like McDonald's Hot coffee being hot... y'know... that's the damnedest thing about coffee it's normally served hot!...lol good luck!

Well, I don't think you know either

What do you mean that a car manufacturer wouldn't include DVD? Have you seen the crap they throw in Tahoes, Escalades, Suburbans, etc? I seen some of these morons driving around watching football games on a 12" drop down monitor right in front of the drivers face!!
You can even get Nissans with build in DVD. Murano, Maxima and Quest all come with DVD player option packages.

Hey Pete,
Technically you cant but if you visit your local stereo shop (a decent one not circuit city or best buy) they probably can help you bypass the system. When I had my DVD player installed the guy at the stereo shop told me that if I would of got the factory DVD navi system he would be able to bypass it.
A:
staticivi03, trade me spoilers.
if they think the dvd would be a distraction why bother putting a map on the navigation system at all? they could just rely on the chick talking you to your destination.
