From a common sence stand point, there are not many practical $1000. Mods for performance you can make. Best bet would be to install a true dual exhast system. Other than that the engine is pretty much maxed out as far as safe power is concerned. (although a lot of posters may disagree)

yea 1k isnt much as far as mods go... i would say JWT popcharger $110(self installed) and any number of exhausts in the 7-900 range, borla, injen, apexi, nismo...etc. that should put you right around 1000. for another $250 a plenum spacer from AAM and you could probly do the install on that too.

also do not rule out Ultimatez.com on there you can select various combinations of packages to which they give you a slight dicount (many of which i believe) are under 1G for intake and TD exhaust packages but you can also range them to headers and exhaust and the like...
