A&Q about 350Z
Q:
This is the result of my 2003 Z nosediving into a tiny ravine, somersaulting back-end over front and landing upside-down 15 feet away on top of a coffe-table-sized boulder. I was unconscious for an hour as Rescue first tried smashing the rear window, then cutting the passenger door away with the 'jaws of life' to extract me. The bad news: my much-loved and pampered Z gave its life to save mine. The good news: After I regained consciousness in the hospital I had only a sore neck, lots of bruises, a few lacerations and no broken bones/internal injuries or long-term effects. I was wearing my seat belt at the time. The accident happened .5 mile from my house on a straight section of two-lane country road. Because of the concussion my memory of the crash is erased, so I have no idea why I veered off the road - could have been a deer or other animal jumped in the road, an oncoming car veering into my lane, etc. I'll never know cuz if it was another car, noone stopped. More good news: my '03 Z retained most of its original value - the insurance company total loss payout was enough so I can jump back in comfortably as soon as the '07 comes out. I'm in NH and don't drive the car Nov - Mar so I'll just wait till next spring to replace her. No offense to you roadster lovers, but for obvious reasons I will once again be opting for the Coupe! ; )

Thanks for all the well wishes, I'm EXTREMELY fortunate and it does make you think - if it had been all over, what had I accomplished for anyone besides myself? So yeah, it's like I'm playing on house money now and I've started looking into ways to volunteer my time to people less fortunate. Not that I won't spoil myself with another Z as soon as the '07s come out ; ) I'm already having 'Z' withdrawals driving around in my 4Runner..
BTW, DownunderSilverZ , I was going about 30mph. This is the site, the tire track in the foreground was determined not to be mine but that's the general direction I veered off the road. The rock in the background right is what the Z landed on upside down after nosediving into the small ravine (the little dark area about 12ft in front of and to the right of the rock).

yup looks like NH, where do you live there? on my recent trip in July, I saw one Z (silver coupe) at Hampton Beach.

I live about 1/2 hr from the beach. Could have been me at Hampton, I work a few miles from there and went a few times over the summer.
: ) I am NOT ready for summer to end...
Those tire tracks are from a repaved road just beyond the crest of that little hill, when the tar had just been laid down.

i will never swerve for an animal.. hammer it and hit it. lol not really but i will not risk my life to avoid hitting a dog or cat or some such. i hit a deer with my van (thank goodness) didnt do much damage to my van. but if i swerved i could have lost control and flipped it.. my only regret is that i didnt field dress the dang thing. heck it was already tenderized
