A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Does anyone know what dealers do with the old inventory of z cars that hasn't sold yet? I stopped by a dealership the other day and noticed several 2005 350z's that haven't sold yet. I wonder how do they sell them or take them off the lot?

Well as a former sales person, I can tell you right now that we were almost forced to try and sell the older cars before a newer one.
So when the '06s rolled onto the lot and somebody was interested in a 350Z, we had to at least try to sell them a '05 before showing them an '06 model. If we went straight to the '06s and sold them one of those before trying to get them into one of the '05s that we still had, the manager would give us a very stern talking to.
We would even take a few grand off the sticker on the '05 models to try and get them out the door, because as z32dood mentioned, many (though not all) of the cars are financed to the dealership and it costs them money to keep them on the lot.
Eventually our last '05 Z on the lot was a touring model that was purchased from another dealership in the phoenix area because they had a customer who specifically wanted a good deal on an '05 but that dealership didn't have any left. So they purchased it from us and sold it to their customer.
