A&Q about 350Z
Q:
i just got some 20" axis mods 7 stag. set, i was c n what u guys think is the best 2 clean my rims with 2 keep them lookin new, thanx

The lazy, not detailed approach is to use a spray-on, hose-off cleaner. I've been very pleased with Meguiar's Hot Rims. Gotta pay attention to the directions because the stuff is CAUSTIC. I hose the wheel and the body around the wheel before I apply the cleaner. Then, spray on, count to about 15 seconds--a bit more is OK--and then hose the stuff off, being careful to get it all off the wheels and the surrounding bodywork. It's quick, and it works.

That spray-on, spray-off stuff doesn't work if you really wanna be blangin'.
Go to Wal-Mart and get a bunch of thin, cheap white T-shirts and wipe them down every day. Takes me 6 minutes each day.

I just use car wash soap and water. Nothin' special. And my wheels couldn't look any better.

I use soap and water with a lambs wool car wash mitt.
I also make sure there is a coat of Crystal Guard Protectant (or wax) on mine as well. Fends off road salt, dirt, and makes cleaning the rims a lot easier.
I take the wheels off every third wash and wash the backside as well. I also coat with CG (or wax product) the back side. It will help protect there as well.
I didn't think anyone noticed but the other day a couple car guys did and said WTF ??!!
While you have the wheel off spray or brush the calipers with hi-temp paint with the color of your choice. ;)

Add - In between car washes I dedicated a dash mop, which is a small version of the california duster for the wheels to knock off brake dust.
I had to use it everyday on the fronts until I changed out the brake pads.
The stock pads are terrible. They made the wheel dark gray within a matter of miles.... say 75 or so.
Since I have changed out the brake pads to low dust high performance EBC pads they dust like the rears. That means that I only have to dust off a very little dust every week or two (1000 miles). Much improved!
This keeps the car always looking hot and the frustration level down.
I can not tell you how much more I enjoy the car with the better brakes and lower dust.
Nissan should get a clue and change the front brake pads to low dust.
I mean it isn't like these pad wear the rotors any faster they just grip a lot better and do make your car look like you haven't wash it for a year all the time.
I though I would post this in case that is really what your concern was.
