Sounds almost like cave man... just finished reading the preview on car and driver magazine and I'm in love with the car. You can own one for almost 60 Grand. But here is what's interesting, a 60 grand car with only 291 horses and 252 lb-ft of torque. 0 to 60 in4.9 sec and 1/4 mile in 13.4... What's impressive is the top speed of 172 miles. The car is very classy and beautiful. They call it mixed of the boxter and 911. should be out sometime in january.

But seriously.. no real supercar should be doing more than 4.5 - 4.7 on the 0-60 mph these days. Almost everything in the $50K+ price range has oodles of power and can beat that.
I remember test driving a Boxster about 2 years ago. I was impressed by the handling, but the power was really lacking. The sales guy is all "this thing will do 60mph in LESS THAN 6 SECONDS!"
Oooooh! 6 seconds?? A cramped little cockpit with a lazy seating position, and it's slow to boot??

For 10 grand I can make a car run 12's consistently and hit 0-60 in under 5 seconds. As could most in here. The fact is it is a porsche, people will buy it. I agree it should be a little faster, no real secret there. Thats not really the point, this is a porsche. Its accelerates well, stops well, and handles like a dream. The Caymen runs better track times then the 997. When you buy a porsche you pay for an experience.
