So, some bastard just broke your window and walked away. Does the gym have any security cameras to check and see if they can find any clues? I am really pissed and it's not even my car. Sorry about that. Glass is replaceable at least they didn't keyed your car, that would have been lot worse.

Well that sux, i know how u feel. I felt the same way when i came out and saw about 10 key marks running down my door. wanted to kill someone! Atleast u dont have to have anything repainted like i did. Still sux though...sorry to hear that

Wow, sorry about the attack. I read a very simular post about two years ago that prompted me to get my Compustar alarm. Some criminals know that if you just break the windows, the factory alarm will not go off. I'm glad they didn't damage the body or rip through the dash. If I would have found them, I would be in prison for murder.

My parents used to have a Grand Cherokee. It was sitting outside in the summer heat one day and my dad goes out to grab something from the car..
So he opens the front door, when he slams it shut, one of the back windows just shatters and all the pieces blow outward. All we could think of was the heat must have concentrated on that window and when he slammed the door shut pressure inside blew it out.

really sorry to hear that... hopefully it is some random occurance and not some worthless lowlife that has nothing better to do than mess up other people's property...
I was really pissed when i stayed the night at my Exs and found out next morning that somone had stolen my antenna and license plate cover... i could only imagine if somone had really broke into my car...
but get this... the thieves had the courtesy to put my plate back on my car... after they took my cover... how thoughtful... thanks guys where ever you are!!!
that's like F*ing someone in the a$$ and then shaking their hand afterwards...pleasure doing business..

Do you think that there may have been a malfunction with the power window mechanism? To keep the window from hitting the roof when you close the door, it automatically drops down a bit. Maybe this failed and caused the breakage.
Or, could have been the Chupakabra.

^^^ the window drops down to protect the rubber from the glass. If it didn't drop down like that, the glass would rub on the weather seal everytime you open and close the door. However if this failed, there is no possible way that a thin flexible piece of rubber would cause a glass window to break.
My Z31 was designed way before engineers developed windows that move down when you open/close the door and so I get that rubbing every day, and the window has never broken. The weather stripping however definitely needs replacement soon, as I get little drips every now and then in the rain.
