A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Fram filters are the worst. Usually dealer supplied filters are the best, or such aftermarket companies like Wix and Mann.
IMO, i would not go 19k miles on between changes on conventional oil. It'll have broken down from use or time by then. I'd say 5k for dino juice, and up to 15k on high quality synthetics. I've seen VW diesels using the VW 507 oils go 20k miles, have an oil analysis done, and still have plenty of lubricity and anti-corrision properties left in them. The only reason to change was the soot content. Anyway. YEah. I don't feel it's worth a few bucks in savings to overstretch your oil change intervals, especially if that comes around to bite you in the ass in costly engine repairs.

If you believe that filter A is better than filter B then I suggest you read:

I heard substituting a quart of oil for a quart of tranny fluid in your engine cleans it out well. So if your car takes 5 quarts then you put 4 quarts oil and then 1 quart tranny fluid. Then drive about 500 miles and change the oil back to the normal 5 quarts oil.
A:
The tranny fluid thing is kinda a wives tale. For years tranny builders opened up their trannys after 100k and found things spotlessly clean. They concluded that the detergents in tranny fluid kept things spotless so they tried it in their engines assuming it would clean them as well.
The truth is transmissions stay clean because they don't have to deal with the acids, carbons, fuel dilution, and blowby associated with an engine operating. Running transmission fluid in your engine will only do one thing; ask the engine to run on the improper lubricant. Will it hurt? Probably not, but I wouldn't drive it. I would idle it for 15 minutes or so, but high cylinder pressures on even partial tranny fluid might let metal contact metal on the bearings which can have disastrous results.
If you're going to replace with 1qt of tranny fluid and drive 500 miles, what is cleaning the engine in that case is the short change interval, not the tranny fluid.
A:
It was my auto teacher that said that.
A:
Transmission lubricants can contain EP addetives, these might be corrosive for engine parts.

THe oil guarantee up to 15k miles does not mean much, imo. It depends more on the car it will be used in. If I had your car, I would do it at 3000-4000 anyway. Especially if its american.
My moms 1995 subaru 4 cyl., has had over 300,000 miles on it. Oil was changed irregulary, sometimes car was driven without much oil at all. ANyway it was not maintained in the engine at all. It just ran, year after year. We got rid of it, but I still wonder was this a lucky car or are subarus really that good.
Peace.
