Anti-rust compound for vehicle's body.

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Greetings,

I am looking to find an effective solution to fight the building up of rust on my car. It is just starting to appear in places such as the wheel wells, bottom of the car and inside of the body, such as the gas tank cap area. Also I have moisture in the trunk area which will soon bring rust there too.

I would like to find out if there is a anti-rust spray or compound available to chemically bond with the rust and prevent it from spreading. I do not want to use paint type solution, because it will cover the problem temporarily, but not solve it. I would like to stop the rust in its tracts permanently.

I notice the factory type solution on my car. A rubber-type layer of spray on material on the inside body of the car... maybe something like that is available on stores? Something really effective.

Thanky you very much.

Por 15 works good, Eastwood also makes one that works, but I cant think of the name at the moment.

Eastwood's is Rust Encapsulator. Good stuff.

The only way to permanently fix it is to remove all the rusted metal and replace it with clean metal.

Rust is Fe2O3 or FeO2. Ferric oxide and Ferrous oxide. FeO2 forms quickly; its the orange rust you see form overnight on bare metal. Fe2O3 is typically the flaky cancer you see. The reason car cancer moves so prolifically is because FeO2 can supply oxygen to more Fe atoms and create more rust even though its sealed with paint.

So, just like human cancer, if you simply paint over rust it will continue to grow. If you "operate" and remove 99% of it before you paint it will be years until it comes back.
