Transmission Oil Filter on an Eclipse

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

I recently purchased a 2000 Eclipse, V6, automatic transmission, with 95,000 miles. Since I purchased the car from an individual, I replaced the motor oil and transmission oil as I am not sure when they were last changed. In reference to the transmission oil, this particular model has an external transmission oil filter which I also replaced.

Herein lies my question. When I attempted to purchase the filter at my local auto parts store, their computer came up with a transmission pan gasket and internal filter kit. Does the Eclipse also have an internal transmission oil filter? If yes, when should it be replaced? I cannot find any reference to an internal filter in my Haynes manual.

Thank you in advance,
Greg

I'm not familar with these transmissions, and you might get more specialized replies if you post in the eclipse forum. But that being said it may just be a default in their computer, as usually to get a filter you have to buy the gasket, and to get the gasket you have to buy the filter, they come as a pair. This may just be a general part name and all you get is the gasket. However most all automatic transmissions the filter is internal.

Thanks for the information. I did post in the Eclipse forum over a week ago and had no replies which is why I though I would try this forum.
