removing wheel hub with Puller

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

'Ello,

Autozone recommended the following puller to yank off my hubs on this little Eagle Summit 92 ES

I need to change the rotors and they're behind the hub.

If I tighten down the forcing pin, it's going to be on the bearing there where the Axel nut was, and can't be good on the CV joint eh?

Please help before I do some serious tightening and screw up something major

Mille Grazie
A:

That is correct, just tighten it down, it will slide off.
A:

Thanks for the goahead, yeah few cranks, popped right off.

Since on the topic, how important is the dust cover, mine is totally destroyed from rust but also from me hacking away at the hub before I resorted to a puller tool.

?

A:

Very important, it keeps the grease clean

What shape it isn't important however, just as long as you get it back on
