A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Thank you in advanced.
1. What is the average salary of Certified Technician that knows how to fix car's on-board computers?
2. Is there a Certification for this? What is the name?
3. Is there a shortage for this type of technician?
Thanks
A:
If you want to fix the actual computer, you're looking for an electronics degree and would work for a re-manufacturer. The computers are not field serviced. Diagnostics is normal training for all mechanics, but some extra training is usually offered by the employer beyond the trade school training. Which are you referring to?
A:
Thank you for your reply.
Yes, I was refering to the person that works for the re-manufacturer.
Is there a shortage in this field?
What is the avarage salary for someone who specialize in this type of work?
Thank you in advanced.
A:
That's hard to nail down. Company location and their desired degree are variables. Troubleshooting to a component level is no different than any other similar electronics field, so salaries should be similar. With the correct equipment and data, it's actually easier than diagnosing a PC. Try contacting a reman. company and asking for their qualifications.
Good luck
