Q:
I added gas to my diesal truck by mistake...about 30 gallons in a 33 gal tank. Drove about 12 miles before I realized it.
What should I do???

Also have the tank and the fuel lines flushed. This is a job for a professional diesel mechanic.
Gasoline in a modern diesel engine will destroy the seals in the injectors and often in the injector pump as well, quite quickly. Repairs can run $600 - 1000 if this happens. Fix and flush it now and you might get away with minimal damage.

I accidently put diesel in a gas E-150 van once. She didn't run too well!

The problem with running Gasoline in a diesel engine can be bad. Diesel fuel does three things for the Fuel system. Cleans, Cools and LUBRICATES. Gasoline does not lubricate very well at all. Problems with injectors, pumps, all the mechanical fuel components in your engine can be severly damaged if you run it for to long. You will have more problems than just seals if you ran to hard.

So if i were you i would drain the tank put diesel back in and see if you start having excessive smoke or major loss in power. If it runs fine you are probaly ok, but you lessened the life of your components.
