A&Q about 350Z
Q:
Idle is up and down sometimes feels like it is going to cut off.when im idled for 5mins or so engine light starts blinking and when i start off it just stays on.Hoping someone might have a answer or some help for me.
A:
Take it to Autozone, have them run the ECU for codes. Every time your Check Engine light comes on, the ECU(car's computer) records a troubleshooting code that will point to the direct problem. And the nice thing is most Autozones do this service for free, whereas a Dealership will charge you like $70.
There are many causes of erratic idles, bad 02 sensors, vaccum leaks, bad spark plugs or wires. So the retrieving the code is the best place to start troubleshooting.

I vote for EGR valve. I also agree with igovert... take it to a big chain auto parts store and they'll scan it for free.
