I cant get insurance for under £1800
A:
Just got a renewal quote of £410 tpft but thats without mods decleared gonna try and get it cheaper though.
A:
Is there any way we could state which companies cover mods as well? The reason I say this is because I just took out insurance with Privilege went to them to say I wanted to lower the car a bit and they said they wouldn't cover mods for under 25s... This also came after someone else posted about other underwriters not covering mods (can't remember which). I think it would save people time when ringing around...
Thanks in advance

I believe HIC has just been bought by Adrian Flux.
A:
Unless I'm blind Brentacre don't appear to be on the list.

I've just sorted the insurance for my new '91 16V. I'm 38 with 8 years protected no claims and the car is standard apart from adjustable coilovers. Here's the fully comp quotes that I got from several companies:
Adrian Flux-£466.74 with £350 excess & includes breakdown cover,
Brentacre-£400 with £350 excess & without breakdown cover,
Footman James-£373 with £200 excess & includes breakdown cover, but £35 extra for the homestart cover,
Hastings direct(who I'm with at the mo)-£170 extra for the remaining 9 months on top of £248 that I'm paying for the CL at the moment. New quote-£653 + £75 breakdown cover,
HIC-£488.74 with £350 excess + £42 breakdown cover.
