Saxo clutch change?

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Has anybody on these here forums ever done a saxo VTR clutch change?
My mates is needing done but i need to know what kind of job it is and any specific parts i need before i do it, ie driveshaft seals etc.
Cheers folks, any info you can give me or link me to would be class!
A:

Seals would be a good idea - we used to replace them as std when d/s came out
Try to get a Valeo clutch kit - they usually have a really useful clutch aligner thrown in with it
Should take itro 3-4.5hrs
Gearbox oil is special only (Total).
A:

You need a gallon of petrol too... and a match
Let me know if you get stuck. My pop navs stage rallies in a 106, as he's wrecked all his own cars (basically the same car I think) so could ask for advice if you get stuck.
I think GSF sell TOTAL transmission oil.

Cheers mate, any other info you could give me? how cramped is it under there? how much persuading does the gearbox need to come out? etc.
Thanks a lot mate.

It's a French car, of course it's cramped.

I did a clutch on a 106 once, it wasn't too bad - but it was only a small engined one IIRC
(I did it on a wheels free ramp )

Worst one I've ever done it on was my 406, total and utter pain in the ass, no room at all. idealy it needed the engine out tbh.

Thanks a lot mate. Not much too add really.
It is cramped, but more by virtue of being small than french!
Box is light enough to manhandle by hand.
