A&Q about 350Z
Q:
On your private test tracks, obviously
Genuine GPS or similar timed figures only please, we all know how speedos over read and I've owned enough 8v GTI's to know that they don't do 135mph unless seriously toyed with
I'll start off with a pretty lame GPS timed 123mph @ 4,400 rpm, ran out of road before I could hit the 5.5k limiter
EDIT: Forgot to add, that was in my Bora TDI
A:
About 650mph Equivalent Groundspeed.
I win.
A:
Ah but was that GPS timed? We all know how the 747 speedo over reads.
A:
driving or a passenger??
A:
Either!
I was driving BTW
A:
ok a passenger in dads porsche indicated 130 (it was a 928)
and on a private test track only a measly 110 (1.6 driver with hill )
oh and a ford escort poo thing was 126 iirc
A:
Not GPS but i'll add my figures anyways
My 328sport - indicated 155, it was flat out probably 145 i reckon
Skyline R32 - 165 indicated was a lot left in that, so bloody noisy

Flat out in my old 8v was indicated 130 but doubt that very much

I'm not posh enuff to own a GPS device and now that I own an HDi I have no need to know how slow I'm travelling. Fastest un-gps measured was an indicated 135 in my valver, standard wheels etc so no idea how much it was over reading by. Felt damned quick as I did it over a local bridge so harsh cross winds made the already stupid driving even more unhinging
A:
My fastest with me driving was a non GPS 140mph indicated in a BMW 540i.
Fastest as a passenger was again indicated 170 in a Diablo.
A:
250km/h (dont know the mph conversion though and too lazy to work it out) in a Mercedes Benz C280 on a South African road btw
A:
67,000mph
A:
what was that in then?
A:
the earth
A:
ok
A:
GPS indicated 137mph in my valver.
GPS indicated 149mph in my friends corrado G60
165mph in my friends Nissan Skyline (clock reading only so probs more like 160mph)
A:

Yeah, pretty sure the groundspeed readout is GPS - derived. It's an instantaneous readout too...
A:
Indicated 165mph in a 355.
149 indicated in my R32.
38 indicated on my pushbike.
About 11mph running.
About 4mph swimming.
A:
GPS indicated 137mph in my valver.
GPS indicated 149mph in my friends corrado G60
you might want to get a refund on that GPS!

It wont hit the limiter in top, not a chance in hell mate.
The reason diesels do not rev as high as petrols is because diesel can not burn that quickly, hence why most diesel cars make peak power at or below 4.4krpm. Even my old 406 90bhp TD pulls 4.4krpm in top, albeit only doing 112mph. yes you can hit the limiter in neutral or 1st and 2nd, but you know yourself where the car stops pulling hard (bet it's 4.4-4.5krpm at the most)
Not taking the wee wee, just some random information for you
159mph, road angel, GSXR600 was my quickest. Been onfaster bikes but never with GPS.
