A&Q about 350Z
Q:
A touch under?, so you mean 140mph then.
no, i mean like 158...
also 140 (speedo) in my mates brothers old s13 with 4 of us in it, which was nice
hmm, well given Renault quote the top speed of 145(and thats based on a new car, not an old dog), i think we can safetly assume the 10% speedo error was well in play!
A:
160mph in an A4 1.8T with 210bhp!!! on GPS
136mph on clock in my bora tdi
165mph in Bros S2 coupe with plenty more to go.......
A:
155 mph (indicated) in an R33 Nissan Skyline GTR
160+ mph GPS in a remapped 2.7TT Audi S4
Rev limiter in top in a 2.0l 8v mk2 golf many many times... 130 mph
150+ mph in a TVR Griffith 500
140+ mph in a TVR V8S
Not on public roads of course.
The scariest moment was being driven at 100+ mph in an Astra estate in driving rain six inches off the bumper of the car in front for 10 or so miles in Switzerland. We were late for our flight and the driver had balls of steel lol
A:
135mph GPS reading in my Valver = bloody noisy very light on the steering...
That was with an extra interior in the back aswell
A:

A:

i wonder if you'd say that if you were paraplegic following a road accident because you're late

The driver was provided by the company we were visiting. In Switzerland it appears to be customery to drive in the 'fast lane' with full beam lights on until people get out of your way. If they don't you hang close behind until they move over.
Luckily I made it in one piece :)
A:
fastest as passenger_ 162mph on a road angel in a big jag like the pigs use it was the 'r' badged supercharged one and it was my mates dads who was on holiday lol!
driving-my rs turbo'd xr2 which rapidly went off the clock at 150mph
the missis puma speedo indicated 136 then hit the limiter in 5th
A:
I've driven at 125+ (mate took a photo of the speedo, so I know that for sure) legally on an autobahn in Mk5 GT
But I hardly dare take my eyes off the road and mirror when I'm travelling at over 100, so it surprises me that some people can be looking at their speedos and rev counters when they're driving a lot faster. Or am I just a coward?

Fair enough, but i see nothing heroic in driving closely behind someone AND doing 100mph.
Just ends terrible accidents.
Almost as pointless as this thread - all this 'my gahoonas are bigger than yours' cr@p.
Besides, theres only about 3posts in this thread that are even vaguely credible.

Not so much the shocks but the general attitude of the company when you have problems. I sent my set back for a rebuild and was told that it was not possible to source the seals for the older kits any more. I stripped the units down, measured the seals I needed and found some off the shelf at the local agricultural supplier and rebuilt them myself

Which ones exactly?
A:
^ they know who they are.
As a test of reasonable validity, id suggest these criteria :
1. Statement about cars speed alone : Not worth a jot
2. Statement guarenteed by calibrated GPS: Mostly convincing
3. Certified printout or policegun(possibly): Fully believable.

I have 6 points and a £350 fine to proove my 406 can do 96mph while braking as hard as i could, does that count?
A:
157mph on the speedo probably 148ish real speed in my CTR, oh and it still had 500rpm left until the limiter
180ish on a Fireblade couldn't be exactly sure as I was concentrating on trying not to die
