too right.... you cant beat the smell of diesel, agricutral diesel is great.... my ex`s dad used to comment upon the destinctive smell coming from the tank on my 205D....
but for the sake of this poll i also like the whiff of a bit of petrol

I'd say yes, but there's an extra level also: the smell of what I think is unburnt fuel from race cars, or tuned race motors, just coming to a stop after a proper run. That's a whole new level !!!
Or standing in the forests getting the combination of hot mud and unburnt fuel from passing rally cars

I like the inital smell of petrol...but I hate smelling it constantly or when its stale...its very dissapointing, all my sick and twisted fantasies about the great smell get quashed.
Like Chris said....it's lovely when it's being burnt in a well tuned car...you definatly get a very distinctive smell which is just yummy!

Strangely, petrol doesn't taste that bad either. I had to 'prime' my fuel pump after work on the fuel tank, so I sucked on the tube, getting several mouthfuls of the vapour and a couple of good swigs of it too.

Love the smell which is a shame because we have a stinky diesel now.
Only time I smell petrol now is when we fill up the outboard or the strimmer.

When I was younger my uncle raced sidecars and we used to go watch him at Mallory Park and have a wander round the pits to find him. The smell of a pit lane is something else. Oil, rubber, petrol all mixed together to make the best smell ever!! Senses overload even then!
Takes me back to them days when I go to a track now.
