A&Q about 350Z
Q:
8v or 16v whats fatser? better?
A:
Hmm.... 16v!
Then again, im sure others will argue otherwise.
In standard form the 16v has 24bhp more.
A:
iv just heard thats the 8v i better than the 16v do you know why this could be/
A:
ermm, possibly just a stubborn 8v owner?
I dont know tbh.
I would of thought as the 16v was the flagship model, it would be pointless it being slower than the 8v.
A:
Millions of threads on various forums about this topic. My guess is you already know that and are trying to spark off yet another one.
A:
If you do a search, this has been talked about pretty much daily.
someone even posted up some graphs to prove the 16v was quicker/more powerful right through the rev range.
A:
here's just one of the threads mentioned....
A:
Windup TBH.
A:
16v is 'fatser' as it has higher top speed and 0.60 times is around a second faster than the 8v.
As for which is better, it's all down to personal taste and driving styles.
A:
personal taste exactly.
I prefer the far superior low down torque of an 8V motor......

gotta be something like that - i joined the forum when i first got the mk1 which was five years ago - so maybe only been reading the 8v vs 16v thing that long - only moderating it for maybe 4 and a bit years...
A:
even my mrs knows the 16v's are far superior to the 8v!!
*and off go the worms!*
A:
is that the 16v battery version with the twisty bit?

It Must Be A Knightmare Putting Caps At The Start Of Every Word, Really Wastes Time.
Anyway, the 16v is apparantly, i only own my 8v because i dont want to pay 16v insurance.
Im very happy with mine :-)

Hey! don't take it to heart!
Ive had them all: 8v, 16v, G60. Its all down to personal taste and driving style.
Out of the 8v and the 16v I always prefered my 16v's. I only ever had one 8v mk2 and for me I didn't like it half as much as the several 16v's I have owned. For me I prefered both the spec (16v's are generally much higher) and the way the 16v revved harder and didn't run out of steam as fast.
But for me the G60 will always be the greatest Mk2!.....and if you can afford one I would get one of these.........in my opinion the best mk2 by far!!.....but thats only my opinion, so eveyone don't get your undercrackers in a twist.

They will both make you smile when they go and.........cry when they stop!

Also *******s, at no point does the 8v make more torque. It just feels like it does because it doesn't rev. A 16v feels just like a 16v till 4000rpm, then the difference is obvious.
