tinking of selling my mk3 golf vr6 its a 3 door with 97100 miles full historty last service at 93k stamped book to prove, in i think its called dusty mauve very nice coulour and i very good condition no rips or tairs in the inrerior some small scratches on the body work but to be expected for a 1994 L model 12 years old car.

Ok no probs... I'd have a look on ebay, and try and price it up against something similar on there.
It's not a brilliant way of doing it, but it does give you an idea what people are willing to pay

I sold my 190BHP Vr6 about 3months back, 3door in silver, induction kit, and I got £1550 for it, but I did want a quick sale. Best of luck.
