Anyone got a pair in good condition that they want to swap for my half smoked pair?

Original? How do you mean? The original clusters are what I'm after. I want to revert back from half smoked to standard.

Are they a standard rear cluster (red, white, orange lense) sprayed, or standard 16v 1/2 smoked?
I have got a spare set of rear clusters which I will be willing to s***, but I need to double check their condition. Where are you based?

Bloody good question! They're definately not sprayed. I thought the ones I have were replacements for the red, white, orange lenses. It's a 1990 G plate tornado red 16v, would this have come out of the factory with half smoked?

yep 16v big bumpers had half smoked as standard

Doh! Schoolboy error! Lots of peeps telling me to revert car to original which I thought included the rear clusters. Kind of glad cos the half smoked look way better imo. So I guess it's just the front indicator lenses, don't tell me they were smoked as standard too!!!!

No orange front and side repeaters as factory,you can get them from the usual suspects,are you going to put the standard exhaust on it?

No, they were amber. Sent you a PM earlier. Got a couple of sets of big bumper indicators, yours for a fiver if you want.

Thought as much. That's cool, I've still got the original side repeaters. I'll be in touch about the front ones Deako/vdubgirl.
I'm not sure if I'm even going to revert yet but I doubt I'll do the exhaust even if I do decide to do the rest. I'll have to pay someone to swap it and I can't really afford it. I'd have to remove the eyebrow spoiler aswell which I'm worried will leave obvious holes along the top of the grille. I suppose it should be all or nothing really, maybe I'll do a poll to see what peeps on here think.
Also guys and gals, are the bbs center caps from GPC, original replacements and if so how much are they and which ones do I need to order?

You are probably better off calling GPC for the center caps. Give them the model number stamped on your alloys and they can give you a price. Which alloys have you got?

Yeah I think they were the 15" BBS RA's. Can you please let me know how much GPC do the center caps for? Im missing all of mine. Im just abit too lazy to get the model number and call GPC (again)

I'm thinking of reverting to standard to improve my chances of finding a buyer. I'd rather keep the car as it is and not sell it at all but I've had to buy a cheaper runner for the 25 miles a day that I do to work and back.
I've already bought a 96 plate fiesta 1.25 16v zetec (yes, I know it's a Ford but the mpg, tax, insurance etc is way cheaper and the 16v zetec engine it's actually quite fun). Trouble is the golf won't sell and I need to pay off my credit card, bills bills bills....... !!!!!!!
