I'd want one, hope they make it. 340lb/ft torque, 0-60 in 4.8s.
A:
looks like the new K.I.T.T

looks like the new K.I.T.T
More like S.H.I.T
Looks bad, rather heavy handed like the new Leon FR's.
Not a fan of the wheels or large sills. Massive grill doesn't excite me either.
Nice performance i bet though

Working prototype AFAIK Despite being rolled straight out of the design studio on to the track, the R GTI pulled off an impressive zero to 60-mph time of 4.8 seconds.
A:
hope not repost
dont worry, ive just covered that!
A:
That looks raw
Although figures I just read said 400bhp/340 torque (lb-foot)
Lots of carbon fibre on it too.
A:
couldnt care a **** what it looks like. I'd swap body parts for it

Bit sceptical of this tbh.
VW America sit up, grab Oettinger Styling bits, bolt on a big APR turbo, Quaife diff and a few other odds and sods.
Then VW America lauch it on Vortex. If Autotech or APR or Oettinger had made it, no one would have taken the blindest bit of notice. It would have appeared in the magazines sooner or later - and that's that.
It's not clear whether VW Germany endorsed it, and they VW USA clearly state that there are no plans to produce it.
In the same way there are several big turbo 1.8Ts around in various cars, all done in the aftermarket - and strangely VAG have no plans to produce them (seeing as it would be reverse copyca engineering anyhow)....
Mind you, the irony of this versus VW UK marketing's bleatings 2-3 years ago that some things were 'better left alone'. Oh dear, crossed wires chaps....

I think its done by the American version of the European styling group, working directly for VW Chris. The same guys that did the Jetta and Passat concepts a few months back.
