Why does no one want this car? (ebay)

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Looks ok to me...
A:

dunno i'm not a mk2 expert but it seems tidy
A:

The photo's do not sell the car at all
A:

Go on David treat yourself! Fill the void!
A:

Too little between minimum bid and buy now price.
A:

SOLD!
A:

The owner doesnt even know what colour it is! Looks like a dodgy respray from the matt effect bonnet and the door too.
A:

probably not sold thanks to its huge starting price!
A:

Its also been on the AT website for 3 weeks!
A:

lil confused, i have seen it on ebay and i thought it looked good!
leather interior is quite smart and paint work although dull an in need of a polish doesnt look too bad. a dark day doesnt do helios blue any justice IMO.
most likely the poor photos- how can anyone ever expect to sell a car on ebay if they use poo pictures??? really is a school boy error !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
around the 1000-1500 is a fair price but on ebay high starting bids will scare ppl off, better to have 99p an a reserve- im sure its cheaper to place an auction like that than a 1k start bid?!?
A:

I reckon its Royal Blue.
A:

Just seen it back on there listed again!
A:

looks nice to me! bit too much for the asking price though!
A:

Too much? I think its pretty cheap, just a shame it needs a few bits respraying.
A:

photos are not brilliant and dont show the car from all angles, its been modified as well with some strange mirrors with in built indicators, its best to go and have a look really
A:

haha this could turn into another of those , people with royal blue or as on another thread "winchester" blue thinking it maybe helios, wait til the sun comes out an see the purple flick, i can tell the diff because i have a helios blue mk2 with a royal blue front wing
A:

Hehe, i know mate. Ive had this discussion a few times, and more often than not get called a complete anorak for it. But Helios definitely wasnt available as a factory standard colour on a H registration 16v.
A:

haha i believe its only a 88-89 colour isnt it?? origanlly for campaigns although mine isnt a campaign or maybe for all i know but its a 89 G reg
A:

Yeah, was available from the Campaign onwards till the end of the small bumper production, when Royal Blue took its place as the metallic blue to have. I suppose there could be 1 or 2 very rare examples about though, that were brought upto 90spec as late registered cars.

Nah, I've cubed mine.
A:

so whats the difference between helios and royal? Is royal the metallic version of mine? Mine being the schwartz blue....

No, its a totally different colour. Helios blue has purples in it, royal blue has greens in it. Its easy to tell them apart when they are next to each other. As said, Helios was a pre 1990 spec colour, royal blue was available from 1990 spec onwards. The colour of your old car was just a different non metallic dark blue which also has purples and blacks in it. Very subtle colour, almost looks black in some photos. Ive owned one of each co-incidentally. 89F small bumpered Helios blue. 89G big bumpered schwarzblau and 91H royal blue.

i will try and sort my digi cam out so i can post a pic of Helious vs Royal. its about time i posted some pics of the beasts anyway...
