Tweaking a Brand New Car.......

A&Q about 350Z
Q:

Would the general opinion be that it was insane to tweak a brand new car?
Ie My New Polo GTI, 312mm front brakes 256mm rear brakes, Uprate the ARB's, Remap, Front mount intercooler, Coilovers etc?
Keep looking at parts and thinking about it

ok my opinion on tweaking a new car:-
windows tints
bye bye warranty on anything to do with door mechs, windows mechs, lock mechs, central locking
engine mods
cams - bye bye engine waranty
suspension upgrades
change shockers - bye bye waranty on all suspension parts
brakes upgrades
bye bye waranty on all braking system including servo, m/c etcetc
my general comcensus is not to even touch a brand new car untill it is out of its warany period, you never know when an engine falut may occur
or lets say you lower it and ur final drive goes bang - they say it because of the extra stresses on the final drive unit (even ho there wont be any extra stresses).... if they can get out of it they will...
its usually the case if anything is going to go bang due to a mechanical or manufacturing fault it wil happen in the first 12 months or after the warrany period...... i would personally restrain untill 12mths down the line....

Thats what I'd do.
A:

save up and fit all the bits at same time
nothing worse than a slowly evolving modded car imo!

i would say never mod a brand new car . wait till it has 1K miles on it lol . oh but order bits for it before you pick it up . i do :)
A:

Wait untill the warranty runs out or just do things that can be easily changed back to stock incase any warranty 'issues' do arise
A:

thats if you still have the car in 3 years lol
A:

A lot of garages are ok nowadays with mods, very much depends on the dealership you have though. Just ask them if you can change certain things and still maintain warranty.

(No offence to anyone with said diagnosis!)
