A:
Congratulations.
What is the deal with these TT cars, are they supposed to be the dogs dangelies?
Did TT just shuv a turbo manifold and turbo on them or did they modify the engine and too?
What sort of power do they have?
Cheers.
A:
I know TarmacTerror on here has (or had?) a turbo technics mk1:
.
And that used a T34/5 Turbo with a specially developed high-nickel content inlet manifold, modified ignition curve & high-flow metering head.
Pistons were machined for compression of 8:3:1 with special head gasket, heavy duty clutch & uprated engine mounts.

I am interested in some pics of the induction side of things on a tt engine to see how it is all plumbed together on a 8v k-jet.

Yes they are the dogs danglies!!!!! (slightly biased of course).
The conversion included T25 Turbo, cast exhaust manifold and full s/s exhaust, intercooler, 5th injector mounted on cast inlet elbow, piggy back ecu, c/r lowered in the way of piston skimming () and dual stage boost control on dash. There was also an option of a tar-ox brake upgrade. If you've got this upgrade i will be soooooooooooooooooo jelious! Power was about 180bhp.
Oops & "TurbTech":
How could you forget about me!
Here's mine in original form (which it can in the future be converted back to):
How much did you pay in the end?
A:
it sayes in the book its a 185bhp motor what have you changed on yours if i wanted to replace the tired turbo what would be a direct fit ?
ive seen that dual stage boost how does that work
i havent got the brakes shame but im going upgrade to g60s
A:
Some of the earlier ones had 170 odd bhp but the later ones (mine and yours) had about 10 bhp more courtsy of a wee bit more boost.
A T25 hybrid which is what 'Stealthwagon' used to run would be a direct fit and he was pushing 264bhp! I'm sure there will be others but thats what i'll be looking into next.
The switch is linked to a little soilnoid thing that runs into the actuator and adjusts the boost accordingly. Have you got the extra heated rear window switch for the dual stage boost?
A:
yeah hes got the extra heater button, is it just a case of off and on ? also have you got a close up pic of the 5th injector ?
A:
Yep, its just a case of on and off. Mine always stays on of course
A:
come on then how much?
A:
Sounds like a nice retro performance kit there. So what is the trigger for the extra injector, is there some sort of pressure switch in the intake manifold or does the piggy back ecu take care of that? Were these conversions offered for Digifant and KJet models, if so they must have had two different piggybacks.. no?
A:
i dont know why but its down on power at the moment not too sure if its the turbo or something else yet i will try and have a look on the weekend.
as for the price it was as far from my new car £10k price
A:
, c/r lowered in the way of piston skimming ()
you sure? I heard they have offset small end bearings to lower the piston in the block?
A:
They re-bushed the con rods to lower the C/R
