A&Q about 350Z
Q:
HI everyone,
starting to see more of these conversions coming up for sale. What would people say is the going rate for a good one? e.g there's a nice looking one in pvw classifieds this month for £2500 if I can remember?! I can't help question why one is up for sale, is it cos it has lots of things to finish? or annoying problems? for the people on here who have one, what can I expect 0-60 be from a standard 2.8vr6 conversion?
Cheers.
A:
Id expect to pay more for a good one. I sold mine for £3800 last summer. 40k VR6 engine, edition one recaros, royal blue, 280mm brakes, eibach arbs, magnex exhaust and decat, powerflex poly bushes.
Then again, there are lots of them about at the moment, so this is forcing the prices down a bit. There is a VR6 supercharged Mk2 for sale on E38 for £3400.

prices vary winldy, as does the standard of conversions.
read up on the various ways to do it, and definietly don't buy the fisrt one you se e(unles sit looks totally factory. if it's been done right, it will)
any sings of bodged brackets, hoses, radiators, dodgy wiring, clocks, or anything not working right, run a mile (or buy it cheap and finish it off yourself)
A:
The place that did mine do the conversion for £1500 quid all in these days IIRC.
I sold mine for £2800 with 280mm 5 stud set up 16" bbs splits and mk3 leather, that was a black G-reg with 107,000 on the engine. It was by miles the best car i've ever owned/driven.
A:
Where did you have yours done? What was included in the price?

Deako can you give me the link to the VR6 for sale on E38 plase? couldn't find it.
A:
I had it done at Only VW in Blackburn.
When i had mine done i supplied the engine, i actually drove it there still in the mk3. I dropped off both cars and picked up the mk3 shell and the mk2 VR6 the week after and he charged me £1250 to swap the full mk3 runing gear over and have a Powerflow exhaust put on it, it wasn't as neat at PhatVR6 does them but i was happy with it.

I was half tempted to buy yours when you had it up for sale, didn't the headgasket blow a week after you sold it?

And the gearbox!!
A:
Yes it did, it must have been how the guy was driving it, one if the gear change cables broke while he was test driving it, very embarasing but easily fixed
Any excuse for a pic

1990 that Golf is lush ! Why did you sell it if ya don't mind me asking? I'd be more than happy with myself if I had one of them next year ! How much faster would you say it was over a standard 16V Mk2?
A:
i am thinking bout selling my mk2 vr6 . it has the normal 280mm brake up grade , g60 steel wheels , fk coilovers . its an obd1 2.8 from a passat that is showing 106thou . i would only sell it as i need the money for the mk1 .
A:

I sold it and got a mk3 vr6 which seemed more suitable for the family at the time. If i had the choice again i would have bought a mk3 GTI and kept the mk2
