Q:
Took it to my local vw specialist and after
New gear linkage
New clutch cable
clutch release bearing
all belts
Front ball joints
wishbone bushes
breather pipes renew
Rear gearbox mounting
Oils,fluids,filters,plugs blah blah and the repair of the broken glovebox handle (which adds 3hp or so they told me )
It bloody fab!!!! a totally different car .
Only had it for 3 months and thought that car was alright (even a bit overated), but now it's like Wheeler dealers have been working on it.
Only thing is wheeler dealers dont give a bill at the end.

The other side of £500 plus.
Was only expecting £40 ish for the belt and fitting. Bit of a shock but it clearly needed doing and was worth it in the end.

what so you asked for the belt to be done and they did all that?
i'd be feckin furious!!
actually i wouldnt coz i just wouldnt pay them.
