1972 240z w/L28, tokico shocks and springs, and a 5 speed waiting. Also running high performance ultra mega blinker fluid, that's at least an extra 50hp to the wheels.

They all seemed pretty suprised. But most of them would have rear ended the vehicle in front of them if they hadn't gotten nailed by the posts.

You guys are giving them the benefit of the doubt. Just look at the first driver. He pulls up, notices he can't get by and then leaves. The truck comes up, activates the barriers, and as it drives through the first driver guns it.

Yes, the first car was just trying to run it, though I think givin the amount of speed that the black suv had they were not aware that that was coming. It was clear between the guy hitting his head, the speed the car had, and the getting the kid out of the car, it was not expected.
I know where it me driving in an unfamilar city I could very easily make the same mistake.
