...........a long time ago.......around the turn of the century LeRhone made rotary aircraft engines...whereby the whole engine spun around the stationary crankshaft......around 1900 !
In pic below, notice that the propshaft is one piece with the crankcase...
Everything you see spun with the prop, and the crankshaft was bolted to the airframe through the rear.....
There's nothing new under the sun - ask L. DaVinci ! ! ! !
