nice looking car. im an old fan of mopar. i know the engine is a big block( dist in front) but what size is it? and in the engine compartment wasnt there rubber flap things over the holes in the inner fender?

My dad put a 383 hemi in his '65 Monaco in 69'

Still waiting for my dad to provide price and receipts to be scanned as well as all the docs from the lil ol lady that owned the 66 Polara. It even has her owner's card in a pouch on the rad support.

383 is a good workhorse motor ( my dad has the same in his 62 chrsyler 300) but it could have had a 361 which is not as good. im confused about the 383 hemi comment? mopar never made a 383 hemi. they made the old 392 hemi and the 1966 and newer 426 hemi but ive never heard of a 383 hemi. am i wrong here?

Zx-you are correct.The following Chrysler motors were HEMI's:241,270,276,291,331,354,392 and finally the 426.

I'll ask my dad about the size of the Hemi he put in the Monaco. He said 383 but it probably was the 392... I was ~ 5 and I just remember it was painted very bright orange and we hit over 100mph many times in it LOL
